Door Supervisor Top-up Training
Course Overview
The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace. It is designed for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a Door Supervisor and need to be brought up to date with the new licence-linked qualifications requirements.
Course Syllabus
The course is separated into three Units:
Unit 1: Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry
Unit 1: Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry
- Understand terror threats and the role of the security operative in the event of a threat
Unit 2: Principles of Using Equipment as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry
- Know how to use equipment relevant to a door supervisor
- Know what actions to take in relation to global (or critical) incidents
Unit 3 - Application of physical intervention skills in the private security industry
- Understand physical interventions and the implications of their use
- Understand the risks associated with using physical intervention
- Understand how to reduce the risks associated with physical intervention
- Be able to use physical skills to protect yourself and others
- Be able to use non-pain compliant standing, holding and escorting techniques
Course Details
The SIA stipulate a minimum number of contact hours and a minimum number of training days. This is a 2 day course, plus pre course distance learning.
It is an SIA requirement that each learner is sufficiently qualified in First Aid or Emergency First Aid prior to starting the Security Officers course. The first aid certificate must be valid for at least 12 months from the course start date. Ubique are able to deliver the applicable First Aid training for learners who do not meet this standard. Class size: up to 12 delegates Please note that a valid SIA licence is required following successful completion of the training to work as a Door Supervisor.
