Emergency First Aid at Work Training
Course Overview
Our one-day Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work qualification course is designed to support learners to become emergency first aiders in the workplace.
The content of this qualification aligns seamlessly with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Health and Safety Executive Northern Ireland (HSENI) requirements for safety and security training. Specifically designed for organizations that recognize the necessity of training staff to the level mandated within their first-aid needs assessment, our program ensures compliance with essential safety and security standards.
The qualification covers knowledge such as the roles and responsibilities of the first aider and how to assess an incident. The qualification also covers first aid skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), providing first aid to a casualty who is choking and dealing with external bleeding and hypovolaemic shock, and how to provide first aid for minor injuries.
In line with the guidance provided by the HSE and HSENI, the qualification supports/approves workplace first aiders for a period of 3 years, after which point learners will need to retake the course. Therefore, the qualification is valid for 3 years from the date of award. In addition to this, it is recommended that learners refresh their knowledge annually.
As specialist trainers, we understand that empowering learners in realistic environments and allowing them to experience certain situations first-hand will help them get the most out of the training experience. It is for that reason that we recommend this training to be delivered at our client's site in the learners' natural environment and workplace where appropriate. We can also facilitate this training in one of our dedicated training facilities.
