Emergency Preparedness & Response Training

Course Overview

The Emergency Preparedness & Response training programme is formally endorsed by the National Skills Academy for Nuclear (NSAN) and the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) UK Chapter. It is aimed at those in a public or private-sector organisation who have managerial or decision-making responsibilities within the organisation’s emergency structure.

This programme is intended to build on the learning provided by the JESIP website, providing the context for the various elements of the principles. The programme achieves this by sharing emergency services national best practice through a delivery programme designed to meet the bespoke needs of the organisation in its industry, such as the Civil Nuclear Industry, National Healthcare, Manufacturing, Local Authority, and others. To this end, the programme is delivered by experienced former emergency services commanders who understand the industry’s idiosyncrasies in emergency arrangements.

The intended outcome of the training programme is that the learner will have the skills and ability to work in a seamless partnership with the police and other blue light services responding to a site safety or security event.

Successful completion of this training programme provides the business with supporting evidence that it has Suitably Qualified and Experienced Persons (SQEP) for regulatory bodies such as the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR), NHS England, the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), or the Environment Agency.

As specialist trainers, we understand that empowering learners in realistic environments and allowing them to experience certain situations first-hand will help them get the most out of the training experience. For that reason, we recommend this training be delivered at our client’s site, in the learners’ natural environment and workplace.
