As a former senior police commander and Head of Firearms Training with West Yorkshire Police, I bring practical operational experience to counter-terrorism training, helping people apply their knowledge confidently in real-world situations.

I’m an independent healthcare violence prevention and reduction consultant, with 19 years of NHS experience spanning risk management, staff safety and violence prevention. Having served as National Lead for Violence Prevention and Reduction with the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives, I bring frontline and strategic expertise to healthcare security, helping organisations improve staff safety and put evidence-based approaches into practice.

My career has included working with the Home Office’s Office for Security and Counter Terrorism, training emergency service and military commanders, and helping develop national operational procedures. I bring this real-world experience into my training, helping learners understand how counter-terrorism strategies and protective security measures work in practice.

I have almost 40 years of experience in the security industry, including 30 years in specialist policing and counter-terrorism intelligence. My experience spans all four pillars of the UK’s CONTEST strategy, alongside threat assessment, crime reduction and the development of physical security measures. I now use this operational knowledge to deliver practical training and help organisations strengthen their protective security.
