Ubique Risk Management Selected as an Approved Security Reviewer for the NPSA Secure Innovation Scheme

Ubique Risk Management has been selected as one of a cadre of approved Security Reviewers for the NPSA and NCSC Secure Innovation Security Review Scheme, a government-backed programme designed to help early-stage UK tech companies protect their intellectual property, competitive advantage, and reputation from state threat actors and state-backed competitors.

About the scheme

The Secure Innovation Security Review Scheme was developed by the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), in partnership with Innovate UK, the Department for Business and Trade, and the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. The scheme provides eligible small and medium-sized technology organisations with access to a comprehensive security review at a significantly reduced cost: participating organisations contribute £500, with the remaining £2,500 funded by the UK government. In a pilot of the scheme, 98% of participants reported feeling better equipped to identify security threats to their business, and 89% considered the £500 contribution to represent value for money.

Each review assesses an organisation’s current protective security posture across six areas: governance, risk and incident management, security culture, cyber security, supply chain, and partnerships.

Ubique's role as an approved reviewer

Approved Security Reviewers are selected and trained by NPSA and NCSC against a defined framework. Ubique’s reviews are led by Richard Ross MA, RSES, ASMS, F.ISRM, M.IPSA, MInstRE, whose background in security risk management, risk mitigation and anti-terrorism activities, positions him to identify both physical and cyber security risks, advise on mitigation, and help organisations integrate protective security into their broader business strategy.

For organisations that completed the scheme and are now looking to develop their security posture further, our Risk Management team is available to provide ongoing consultancy support. You can also find out more on our dedicated Secure Innovation page or contact us directly.
