Ubique Risk Management is pleased to announce the launch of a new qualification, the Level 2 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security and Awareness, accredited by SFJ Awards. The course has been developed in direct response to the requirements introduced by the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, more widely known as Martyn’s Law, and is designed for anyone working in a public facing role.
Since Martyn’s Law came into force, organisations across hospitality, retail, facilities management, and events have faced a new level of scrutiny around how they prepare staff to recognise and respond to potential threats. For managers responsible for demonstrating due diligence, this qualification provides a recognised, auditable answer to that requirement. For individuals working in security, front-of-house, or facilities roles, it offers a genuine credential that signals professional capability in a specialism that is only growing in importance.
The course requires no prior experience and covers the essential knowledge needed to recognise potential threats, identify suspicious behaviour, and respond appropriately should an incident occur.
The Level 2 Award has been designed for people who are public facing but are not responsible for formal counter-terrorism risk assessments. This includes hospitality staff, front-of-house teams, facilities and estates personnel, and security professionals looking to build on their existing knowledge. It is equally suited to those meeting a compliance requirement and to those seeking a respected addition to their professional credentials.
Richard Ross, founder and Managing Director of Ubique Risk Management, commented on the launch:
“This qualification, accredited by SFJ Awards, gives people a genuinely recognised standard to work towards, and we are proud to be delivering it. What we bring to that is real operational experience. Our trainers have worked in the environments where these threats present themselves, and that is what separates meaningful preparation from a box-ticking exercise. Anyone who completes this course will leave with practical awareness they can actually rely on, not just a certificate.”
The Level 2 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security and Awareness is delivered over one day at Ubique’s Warrington training centre. To mark the launch, the course is available at a special rate of £145 plus VAT, reduced from the standard price of £195 plus VAT, for anyone who books and pays by 30 September 2026.
Full course details, including content, dates, and booking information, are available on the Level 2 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security and Awareness course page. For more information about Ubique Risk Management’s full range of training, visit ubiqueriskmanagement.co.uk.
