Ubique Training Academy has been named Best Safety & Security Training Specialist 2026 by Elevate Business Awards, recognising the Warrington-based academy’s work training people across some of the country’s highest-stakes industries, from civil nuclear sites to healthcare and construction.
The Best Safety & Security Training Specialist 2026 award recognises an academy whose trainers bring real operational command experience into the classroom, in fields where getting the training right is rarely a formality and often a matter of genuine consequence.
Ubique Training Academy has been named Best Safety & Security Training Specialist 2026 by Elevate Business Awards, recognising the Warrington-based academy’s work training people across some of the country’s highest-stakes industries, from civil nuclear sites to healthcare and construction.
The academy is the training arm of Ubique Risk Management, a Companies House-registered, ISO 9001:2015-certified and Cyber Essentials-accredited firm whose name – Latin for “everywhere” – reflects a client base that spans corporate, defence, healthcare, hospitality, local authority, manufacturing, nuclear, facilities management, oil and gas, construction and private investigation work, in the UK and internationally.
Courses run across four routes: structured learning development programmes for apprentices, graduates and professionals; vocational training in safety and security disciplines; live online instructor-led sessions; and self-paced e-learning. Subjects range from first aid, fire safety and conflict management through to IOSH certification, healthcare security management, crisis management, nuclear security and emergency preparedness.
Training is led by centre directors Richard Ross and Kate Farnell, supported by a team of specialist trainers whose backgrounds include emergency services and operational command roles. That frontline experience is a recurring theme in client feedback, with reviewers from sectors including civil nuclear and the NHS describing training that translated directly into their day-to-day work rather than staying theoretical.
The academy’s accreditations reflect the range of sectors it serves: courses are delivered through awarding bodies Highfield and SFJ Awards, alongside sector-specific recognition from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) UK Chapter, the National Skills Academy for Nuclear (NSAN), the Nuclear Training Network, the CPD Standards Office, and the International Professional Security Association (IPSA). It also supports the MOD Enhanced Learning Credits, making its courses accessible to service leavers and reservists as a supporter of the Armed Forces Covenant.
That commitment to the armed forces community has been recognised more broadly too, with parent company Ubique Risk Management awarded the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award in June 2026. The course catalogue has also kept pace with current threats, with a new Level 2 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security and Awareness course launched in July 2026, which followed on from the successful launch of the Level 3 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security and Preparedness course, both aligned with the requirements introduced under Martyn’s Law for venues and public spaces.
