Ubique Risk Management’s Managing Director, Richard Ross, has been shortlisted for the Business Leader of the Year award at the British Forces in Business Awards 2025 – the world’s largest celebration of veterans and former service personnel who have forged successful second careers in business.
The shortlisting recognises Richard’s record of building and leading Ubique Risk Management into a specialist security and risk management consultancy, serving clients across the UK and internationally in sectors including civil nuclear, defence, healthcare, local authority, and the private sector.
Now in its eighth year, the British Forces in Business Awards were founded in 2018 to challenge the barriers faced by the more than 15,000 individuals who leave the British Armed Forces each year. The awards recognise veterans who have made a successful transition from military service into high-value civilian careers, acting as role models for others making that same journey. The 2025 gala ceremony took place on 26 June at Grosvenor House, London, drawing over 1,200 leaders from the business and Armed Forces communities. Further information about the awards can be found on the British Forces in Business Awards website.
Richard’s path to founding Ubique draws directly on a distinguished career in the armed forces, where he developed the operational discipline, risk awareness, and leadership capability that now underpins everything Ubique delivers for its clients. That background informs the consultancy’s approach to security risk management, project delivery, and specialist training in ways that generic business experience cannot replicate.
