Ubique’s project management team has won the APM North West Network Project Challenge, in collaboration with students from Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). The winning entry centred on the Learn to Return initiative — a programme designed to support individuals transitioning back into employment, delivering tangible social value alongside demonstrable project management rigour.
The APM North West Network Project Challenge is run by the Association for Project Management, the chartered body for the project profession in the UK. The competition invites teams to develop and present a project concept that addresses a real-world problem, assessed against professional project management standards. Winning this challenge — against competing teams from across the region — is a meaningful recognition of both technical capability and social impact thinking.
The Learn to Return programme was developed jointly by LJMU students and Ubique’s project management professionals, combining academic insight with practical, operational experience. The initiative addresses one of the more persistent challenges facing organisations and individuals alike: the structured, supported return to work. The collaborative model itself reflects how Ubique approaches project delivery — bringing together the right expertise, working to a defined methodology, and measuring outcomes against real objectives.
